how fast can muscle grow

How Long Does It Take For Muscles To Grow

Building muscles can be an extremely long process. It takes 2 to 3 years on average to build a good muscular body. Working out and then giving the muscles rest of 24 to 72 hours is necessary.

How Do Your Muscles Grow

You have to lift weights and add resistance to build muscles. The process of challenging muscles by weight and resistance is called hypertrophy.

When you lift weight your muscles fibres get damaged. Your body then repairs your muscles fibres through a cellular process. Your pituitary gland also plays an important role in muscles development by releasing growth hormones.

The process of breaking down and repairing muscles fibres can depend upon the following factors:

1) Rest

Rest is necessary to build muscles as the body repairs the muscles fibres when your body is in a state of rest.

You will not see any result if you don't take enough rest. This is why almost every bodybuilder trains one muscle one to two times only in a week.

Hence it is important for you as well to make up a workout routine and give every muscle group rest of 24 to 72 hours after targeting them.

2) Not Lifting Enough

Your muscles will not grow if you stick to the same weight and reps. Remember if you are lifting less weight then you should go for the high number of reps and if you are lifting more weight then you should go for fewer reps.

Progressive overloading is one of the best techniques to challenge your muscles by increasing the tension on your muscles with time.

3) Diet

We all know that diet is the most essential part of your growth. Your diet determines your health. In the same way, a balanced and enough diet is necessary to build muscles.

Your diet should include protein, omega 3 and 6, healthy fats, vegetables, calcium, iron, fibre and a certain amount of carbohydrates.

4) Technique

No matter how much you lift, if your technique is not correct you will not see any results.

Your technique and posture during a workout determine a lot about your body. You should make your muscles stay under pressure for as long as possible. Perform your reps slowly so that you can keep your muscles under pressure for a long time.

5) Avoid Cardio

If you are skinny and want to build muscle mass fast then you should avoid cardio as it burns a lot of calories.

For bulking, your calories intake must be in surplus so that your muscles can grow.

So, It can take up to 3 to 4 weeks to see a desirable change and on average, It can take you up to 2 to 3 years to build a good body. If you follow all the above-mentioned techniques and tips you will surely see the results fast.
